The first single taken from her second studio album, ‘Irreplaceable‘ is one of British singer-songwriter Lauren Ray‘s most upbeat tracks to date.
Produced by Julian Emery, who’s known for his work with Lissie and Nothing But Thieves, ‘Irreplaceable‘ offers up quite a satisfying slice of pop.
With a sound that could be straight out of the early 00’s, the track intertwines Lauren‘s delicate piano playing with experimental electronic beats – something that’s never been seen in her music before.
Lauren‘s vocals are perfectly sculpted by luscious harmonies, lyrics: ‘I’ve found somebody who makes me feel irreplaceable, we all need someone to make us feel irreplaceable’ being a lovely uplifting sentiment.
When speaking of the track, Lauren says:
“Whilst the verses tell the story of a previous relationship, the choruses and overall message is about finding someone who makes you feel completely irreplaceable. Working closely with Julian on the style of this song was an absolute dream. He really helped capture the mood I was looking for. For my second album I was really keen on exploring a more pop production and wanted to push myself both as a writer and performer. Whilst ‘Irreplaceable’, along with all the new songs were still written sitting at my piano, I just knew that I wanted to present them with this completely different energy”
Currently opening for Paul Carrack on his massive 30 date tour, Lauren has always had an extensive touring schedule. 2018 enabled her to play her biggest venues yet while supporting Rebecca Ferguson, with her most recent tour with Anastacia including shows all around Europe.
Lauren‘s second studio album, ‘Woman In The Arena‘ is out this May.
