SINGLE REVIEW: Make Things Like They Used To Be – Safe To Swim

Released on 22nd February, Make Things Like They Used To Be is the brand new single from rising Brighton quartet, Safe To Swim.

Following on from their November 2018 release of ‘Friends’, Make Things Like They Used To Be is a short but sweet trip down memory lane that’s full of blistering energy and infectious indie-rock hooks.

The track combines massive, classic indie rhythms with frontman Jim Filippides unique, almost pop-punk infused vocals to create a truly invigorating sound. The chorus is fun-fuelled and incredibly catchy, highlighting Safe To Swim‘s astounding ability to create the perfect singalong chorus.

When speaking of the track, Filippides says:

“It highlights the universal fear when we eventually hit adulthood. Modern adult life is ridiculous and confusing, and it’s all too difficult not to dwell on your contemporary complexities, comparing them with those of your past”.

Make Things Like They Used To Be is taken from their upcoming debut EP which is set to be released this May.

The track is available now on Spotify & Soundcloud.
